Elections, Elections

This year is a big one for Virginia. Especially Virginia Republicans.

The Virginia Republican de-facto nominee for Governor is Bob McDonnell. The Commonwealth's former attorney general, Bob McDonnell did much to serve his state and constituents. He stood up against the dark tides of child pornography and trafficking as well as drunk driving by making legislative proposals that passed both houses of the Virginia General Assembly, were signed by Governor Kaine, and became law. He is a model Virginian who stays away from any total polarization but instead relies on a staunch bipartisan mindset to move Virginia forward.

In short, I wholeheartedly support Bob McDonnell for Governor of Virginia in 2009.

Now, in order for a Governor to be successful, there needs to be a strong and thoughtful legislature in place as well.

In the 86th House of Delegates district, voters have a choice. They can either opt to elect experience and devotion, or can cast their ballot for a voice that just entered the district. And while there are those who would quickly dismiss any accusation of an "outsider" coming a few blocks over into the district to run for office as petty, it is worth to note the opportunism. Then again, some may call me opportunistic since I don't live in the 86th, but I am a native Herndonian, and am placing all of my support behind Tom Rust for delegate.

Just be sure that this doesn't make or break any decision you may make. Research on your own and come up with an answer that is as much from your head as it is from your heart.
